"Many" tang safety 99's don't slip close. Some do.

Ok, sounds interesting. Does anybody know why there is a difference?

Yes, I do. The lever prevents the trigger from being pulled far enough to release the sear. Some have the lever ground out so it clears. It's not normal for a tang safety to slip close.

Now Savage-friends, I can tell you, I've got it! :o)
I didn't awaite the auction rising as high as it did but a 99 like this in that condition is absolutely seldom here to find.

So I decided that the value of especially this 99 must be higher than f.e. the price I had to pay for a new Browning BLR in 3006 a few years ago.

Here is the link to the auction:
http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=4655601

On Saturday I will drive to the seller and pick it up! :o)

Pasche,

I think that you will enjoy your new rifle. Even though they changed the location of the safety and made a few manufacturing shortcuts on the later M99s I think that you'll find that they still handle pretty much like a fine English shotgun. Easy to carry and quick to point. Congratulations on your purchase.

Many thanks for your congrats! :o)
Yes, although it is a lot of money for a 99 I think it is a good deal. I am looking forward how the gun will shoot and how the precision will be!
