Ya Ben I pulled most of my traps and just have my snares out now but even snaring is tough right now because they seem to be wandering to randomly to try setting anything.

actually its the only 3 ive ever killed. deer hunting aint been good, but i have saw 4 cats and a couple coyotes. 35 whelen aint the best choice for cat killing, but it works. top pix was with a 257 Weatherby.

I've only got a couple footholds out now, I pulled most of them when the first snow fell.. I'm running snares for the most part right now. But even they have to be maintained heavily when it's dumping snow every few days. Thinking I'm going to get some calcium chloride and set out some more steel with that for antifreeze what with the temperatures rising and falling so much the past few days. I'd like to see how that works. Would help a bunch I'm sure.

Charlie, definitely save some for seed. The little fellers this year will be purrfect next year..

17Hunter, love that JRT! One of my best buds has had one forever as his trapping dog. It's the toughest little thing I've ever seen. laugh She doesn't shy away from a fight!

Yep,,,, since I'm the only one that hunts or traps predators on this mountain I've got no one else to blame but myself if the numbers or quality goes down.

Oh,,, and 17Hunter,,,,, that JRT pic is a classic.

TR, those are some nice coyotes. What does Rick the Verminator think of you using that .17? I remember in one of those videos he was giving you a hard time for using a .204.. grin

Rick was out early season with me and used my .17/204 on a few coyotes, and needless to say he liked it. Funny about the .204, he's got a couple of them now himself. He's coming around to the little bullets for called coyotes and cats.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.
