started Oct. 5th.

Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.

Bad ass.

I've been out twice since after deer season and called in one, and missed. Then on New Years I called in two and they winded me.

Not a good start. grin

tried to call hogs with the foxpro and a coyote came out about 125 yards.

drew blood..

30 cal 168gr amax may not be the best bullet to blow up a yote.

tracking...
[Linked Image]

into the brush. no problem a short hike back to the truck for elbow and knee pads, heavy gloves and a fresh battery in the tactical light mounted on the rail of the 45 to lead the way.

belly crawl...
[Linked Image]

what started out on hands and knees quickly deteriorated to scooting on elbows and then belly crawling. it doesn't take much of that before you ask yourself 'what in the hell am i doing'. pretty sure i was bleeding more than the yote now, so i abandoned the search. with no means to turn around, i had to back out the same way i came in. all i ended up with was a bunch of sticks in my ass for my trouble.

but... went back in the daylight and maneuvering the hog tunnels wasn't so bad after all.

Good job and nice old rifle WCH!

They'll make a nice feed for your neighbor. That was very kind of you.

Field Grade, thanks, she is a lovely lady.. Her husband & I were good pals.. Had most of her children and some grandkids in school... She is also the last of my older friends who enjoys eating sage grouse.. That generation is about gone..

Sage grouse are still quite plentiful here, and from what I have seen in Montana.. Other states I don't know about.. With all the oil exploration, ravens, hawks and eagles now in the country, they are not a common as years ago..

Another red. Can't buy a coyote around here although I've heard them every time out.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I'd rather have Reds around than Coyotes. The Coyotes have pretty well killed off most of the Fox. Great looking Fox! What load are you using?

Son in law gave me some snares for Christmas so after everything calmed down after the new year I set some of them out. Never did any trapping or snaring before but got this one on the 2nd night about 200 yards behind my house

Bigger than he looks in this phone picture, really nice cat.
Borrowed a couple Bridger #3s and set them out half mile north of my brothers dairy barn. Took a few days but got this mossy looking female.

Probably pull things out in a few days, not sure they'll bring enough to keep it up.
