So after months of looking for it, I find the thing 3 days after asking for a replacement. Naturally. Appreciate the offers to help though!

It was an 8" bolt, by the way.

Picture of it below, though picture is bit bleached out (cell phone camera). Top is an 1899A SR, serial number 10.75x, bottom is the 1899C trapper serial number 12.14x. Fun, cheap guns.

I have a spare one in good condition if you are still looking. 4.25" from lug end to barrel tip. Have it listed on Gunbroker started at $25, no bids yet.

I am looking for the bolt that runs from the trigger guard to the action for an early Savage Sporter cal. 25-20 rifle. It is the middle bolt (of 3--the end ones are wood screws) just in front of the mag. Steve

I have a Model 99 that was built in 1922 that was handed down from my great grandfather. I am interested in locating a lever bushing and lever bushing screw that connects the lever to the receiver. The pair I have is stripped to the point that it barely stays together. I'm not sure if this is a standard thread that can be dressed in such a way to make it hold better, or if a replacement is the best idea.

How tough are these to find?

Thanks in advance.

The screw seems to have gone extinct.

The thread pitch and size varies over the years.

I have some I would part with. I will send a private message. Look for a flashing red envelope at the top of the page.

Looking for a sear nut for a 1899 1914 saddle ring carbine, have a couple from a older 99 model but the threads differ.
Thanks

The sear threads have never changed to the best of my knowledge. If you have an odd one it may have been altered.

What is SN range of your gun?

Very puzzling. Do you have another 99 you can take one from?

The only conclusion I can reach is that the threads have been buggered because of the missing nut. You might want to replace the sear screw itself. Have you ever removed it from the gun?

Threads are good, the bolt is at a machine shop which they tried to retap the nut but ended up breaking it in half, believe they said the thread was 8-36? Might order the tap from Brownels and try the spare nut I have. Thought I read somewhere they used a variety of different threads in different years. The bolt looks original and stays in place fine without the nut but thought I would like it to look original. Thanks for the suggestions.

That's the one part I've not seen any variation in. The lever bushing and screw is another matter and they are all over the place on thread pitch.

If you are going to spend any money on it I'd get a new sear screw and nut and forget about retapping, etc.

I have the parts if you want to go that way.

Problem is the new sear screw would not match the threads inside the rifle itself, my sear screw threads into the rifle before it pops out the other side. Is this normal or do most bolts just push through?

The receiver is threaded on the side where the lock nut goes. Someone may have modified it is all I can figure. Never heard of this being a problem before.

I am looking for the front and rear sights for a Model 99 DL Series A. I would like to find the original iron sights, just have a scope on there for now.
