Looking at your html command above I can see your problem why it doesn't display the image.

the [/img] command must be immediately after the last letter in the file type called .jpg. However, somehow the additional numbers about the file size (320x480) got inserted in there also.

I'm going to highlight and then "copy" the entire command listed above but put the [/img] bracket right after jpg immediately below. Don't forget, there can be no spaces in the link address between the first and ending bracketed HTML commands too or it won't show.

Keep in mind that when I paste the thus corrected link you will not be able to "see" the link command, for it will instead show you the intended photo! Here goes . . .

Oh well, it WOULD have worked, but the photo is no longer at its address. Hope this helps!

OK, I'll show you how to use the HTML command even if the normal method does not work. I use this command a lot on another forum that seems to have trouble inserting photos the "normal" way.

I first type out the initial command that starts and ends with brackets as such:

Then, with no spaces after the end bracket, I paste my photo link like this, and then add the end command bracket immediately after the g on jpg. NOTE, IN THIS EXAMPLE I'M LEAVING A SPACE RIGHT AFTER THE jpg . . . so the image will NOT display:

[img]http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5518/12146450023_5d3e141075_h.jpg [/img]

As you can see, the correct HTML command MUST have no spaces, or the image won't show, just the botched command so you can see and edit the error.

Now I'll paste the identical command from just above, but remove that error space after jpg so the end command bracket touches the "g" . . . and voila . . . the image appears! Hope this helps!

Another way you can do the HTML command is the type the open and end command together, with no spaces between them, and then "paste the photo link between the open and end command brackets.

Here's what THAT looks like: [img][/img]

Once you remember how this looks, you might not every try to insert a photo any other way again. Don't forget though, you MUST have the photo hosted somewhere online with an http or https address that ends with the photo file name type such as jpg, png, etc.

You must first open the image in photobucket. Then click on the "IMG" tab. Paste that directly into the Campfire post window.

One might right click on the Img tag and make sure it's "copied". Then paste it into ones thread.

Photobucket seems to have just spazzed out the last few days. Anyone have an Imgur protocol for posting pics?

Hey all. I just posted another way of putting photos on here using Flickr instead of Photobucket. Hope it helps those with questions.

There's two ways to get an avatar.

1) Upload your avatar (Your image must be smaller than 80x80 pixels; .gif, .jpg, .png accepted)

2) URL to your avatar (Your image must be smaller than 80x80 pixels; .gif, .jpg, .png accepted)

#1 uploads straight from your computer. #2 is used for linking to photobucket.

Thanks FH, but I'm still having problems.

Every picture I attempt to use is over 100000 bytes it says.

I don't know how to reduce the size of my original picture to get within range????

-Ken

PS. I also have a photo bucket account, but all pictures there are too large also.

I can resize a pic for you (it would be the easiest way to go) but I can't contact you via PM. I get this message "This user is not accepting private messages."
