I'm talking this style:

http://www.sportsunlimitedinc.com/aerobed-stadium-chair.html

They have plastic stays for support that run on both the seat side and back side that need to be replaced.

They are adjustable for angle, so you can sit on flat ground or hillsides, always have a back rest, and sit for hours if you want, and your ass will give out before your back.

A seat really helps when calling any kind of critter. My basic at the moment is a modified Walk Stool: three telecoping legs that I drilled more lock/length holes into. The legs adjust to different lengths for steep ground and dif. seat heights to see over grass, etc.

On top of that currently is a Home Depot kneeling pad seperate so it can go on a stump or log if the stool is not needed.

I have three varieties of 3 legged stools and 4 pads of various thickness and coverings (or no cover). None of them are ideal. I've owned four other folding type stools and got away from the four legged version due to steep ground.

The most versatile is Huntsman22's one legged milking stool. I just bought a cheap collapsing snow shovel so I can use the handle on it as a telescoping leg on my homemade milking stool, for different seat heights.

Mine will have an optional spike foot so I can sit on top of slick wet logs and stumps, or use the seat only without the leg attached.

That's basically what I've ordered, other than the back rest is taller and the seat has more cushion.

I've been using a cheapo cushion just like Deflave has, and it's fine if there's a fence post or tree to lean against. Out in the middle of sage country part way down a hillside means a slouch that starts to get tiring-------------which leads to shorter sets. If I can sit for hours w/o back fatigue I'll be a happy customer.

BTW Travis, what are your shooting sticks made from? It looks like table legs or staircase banister?

They're just wood dowels held together with inner tube and the ends are wrapped in paracord to keep them soft against the forend.

Just stopped by a Dollar Store (in Canada) and they had skookum closed cell foam seat cushions covered with green nylon pack cloth, for $2. I bought one last year for my wife to sit on bleachers at kid football games, plus have used it on several calling stands. It's an inch thick with a strap handle on one side.

Canoe seat from Cabelas. I strap an inflatable type cushion to mine. Just like a stadium chair but wide and built better. Way more support than Les Johnsons

Is it your metric system, or how can something cost TWO dollars at the Dollar Store? grin

Must be one of those Polish-Canadian dollar stores.

Well the Brown Truck dropped off my new seat today. I haven't given it a field test yet, but did give it a quick test drive on the floor for fit/comfort. The size seems good, but could be a little wider to accommodate winter clothing. The aluminum stays in the seat seem a little narrow and are easily bendable by hand. They'll probably work OK, but if I'm brave enough to cut into the stitching I think they'd be worth replacing with something stiffer.

Interestingly I was unable to find any country of origin information on either the seat or the packaging. Overall the quality seems fine, and it feels comfortable and supportive while not weighing enough to discourage carrying afield.

laugh I wondered if anyone would comment on the two dollar item at a Dollar Store. Dollar stores are going the way of the Dime Store of my youth, and Motel 6. I had what was to me a hilarious conversation with a Dollar Store manager about items that cost more than a dollar. He had no sense of irony, no sense of humor. whistle

With exchange I think the price was $1.78 yesterday.

We've got a Dollar Store in our town too, and I've REALLY wanted to sneak to the manager's phone and announce over the loud speaker "Price check in toys." grin
