eBay or GPC if you were looking for functional, but perhaps not matching, wood.

I'll admit to using Numrich on rare and desperate occasions, but would rather deal with real people who seem to care.

Try these guys. I don't see a 24V in their listing, but a call may reveal they have a good used one in stock.

If you are looking for Savage 24 wood, while not OEM, Boyds is a very good source of aftermarket wood for a Savage 24.
Boyds Sav stocks/forends

Incidentally, Boyds is the supplier for Numrich(GPC) aftermarket Savage 24 stocks, so you can prolly save a little buying from Boyds.

Also, Boyds is the only aftermarket producer of a Savage 24 stock for the 'side lever' 24's that have the 'v notch' stock.

If you go to that link, and scroll through the options on the left, you'll see that they have the forends also.

If you are looking for a forend for a 24V 20 gauge, you want a forend for a .410. The monolithic block on the 24V's(centerfires) are smaller than the Rimfire over 20 gauge monolithic block and the .410 forend is the one that fits. A forend from a rimfire over 20 will work, but you'll have a 1/4 inch gap between the wood and barrel, and while functional, doesn't look all that appealing.

Here is a pic showing the difference in the barrel channel. The forend on the left is for a 24V centerfire, and on the right is the barrel channel for a 20 gauge over rimfire.

'Bout a year and a half back, a '60s vintage .30-30/20 ga/3" in very good condition came home with me for $325. I found the 20 ga to center patterns of #3 buck about 10" high at 25 yds if the sights are used. The .30-30 shoots cast 180 grain bullets quite well with groups of 5 running 1-2" during load development. I expect it to settle down to a reliable 2 MOA shooter with all said and done.

I am..........disturbed.

I've had a few. I miss the 357/20 the most. killed a lot of ptarmigan and snowshoes with mine.
I've got some synthetic camo 24 stocks available if anyone needs them. I planned on finding a 30/30-20 gauge to use them on.

I have the chance to pick up a near mint 24F 223/12 gauge with interchangeable chokes for around $350. After reading this looks like that's not a bad price. Might even be able to make some money on it down the road. Any information on value of the 223/12gauge in particular? This has interchangeable chokes with the black synthetic stock

The general feeling, that I have heard/read, about the 12 gauge Savage 24s is that they are too heavy. Heavy enough to lose the handy "woods loafing" utility factor that the 20 gauge guns have and the 410 guns have even more so.

That said, you might like it and, if not, be able to get at least 100% of your $350 purchase price back.

Savage 24V series D, .357/20 gauge. 158 gr .357 mag bullet replicates a .30-30 closely, but I can also plink with .38 Spec.

How would that camo stock look on her?
