When are you going, and where are you doing it at? I will be in South Dakota 2 weeks from today. Reports are the mass is on the move. the warm weather has them getting antsy to push north.
good luck to all.

good luck to all. Just returned from South Dakota - I was invited along on a pre-planned trip as a sub for someone who dropped out at the last minute. Birds are around, but not very responsive (lots of flyovers). We were in the Freeman area. Ten of us took 9 birds in two days -from what we heard from others, we were the killingist group around. We weren't too impressed with the guide, he wasn't interested in moving/adjusting his setup, and (in our opinion) called the shots too soon. We are from North Dakota, and the birds are just arriving here in big numbers. No snow on the ground here. I'd come here rather than piddling around in SD. Kaiser Norton

Kaiser, sorry to hear that it didn't go well. I will be leaving in the morning to head out there. Half of my group has been there for 3 days so far and are doing well. They are at 103 birds for the 3 days so far, that is with 5 guys.
I will post up how it went for us next week.

Good, I'm glad your group is off to a good start. Hope it stays that way. What part of SD are you going to be in?

Here's a picture from Squaw Creek I took last Tuesday (18th) while I was out there. I was out there 3 days and shot roughly 150 birds with my group. We would of had more, but Tuesday was extremely slow, so we hit up a local diner and then went to see Squaw Creek. Picture doesn't do it justice!

Thought you told me you been working your ass off lately. That sure don't look like work to me. grin
That's a buttload of birds though. Makes it easy to see what they say about Snows eating themselves out of house and home.

Just returned from SD. She was a tuff hunt, cold changing wind, and those dam adult birds. We managed to scratch out 157 birds with 5 guys. This was our toughest year in the last 14. there was no patterning to these birds this year. They flew different routes and different times everyday. Even with the majority of the birds being juvies the adult birds in the flocks just messed things up. Don't know how true it is but last report I heard was less than 200k birds left around Squaw creek. Good luck to the guys to the North.
