Hi everyone..... I have a small problem. I have hundreds of 7mm 160 sierra gamekings and no rifle to shoot them in. I like my bullets and don't want to get rid of them so the only solution I can see is to buy a new rifle to shoot them in. I'm curious as to which cartridge most of you feel would best suit the intended design of this bullet. Thanks Shod

Get a 7x57 or 7mm-08, and you won't have to do the Sierra stalk.

Shod - a 7mm RM, .280 Rem or 7mm-08 (+/-). I posted a reply in a similar situation concerning "declining use of magnum" cartridges. As a last resort i.e. no $$ for new rifle you could sell the GK's. Just a thought. Homesteader

The .284" 160SGK is hardly a prize,in either of it's forms(SBT/HP). It has lotsa bearing surface and a poor form, neither of which has any appeal...on any level. Tough to get giddy about flingin' a .450-ish BC(as a best case scenario),from a 160gr 7mm boolit. You could load a 162 backwards and top that.(grin)
Tough way to do bidness.
I'd trip/trade 'em and move forwards, rather than contemplate the "best" speed to go backwards at.
Hint.

Definitely a 7 x 57 with a ladylike slim barrel and have it lovingly slipped into some nice high grade wood. Your wife might be miffed you are into a love affair but she'll get over it.....maybe

7x64 There you go, see if you can get them to drop their price.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Boxer - not talking prize here. Projectiles in your hand to load and shoot are worth more than a "promise" from a distributor or manufacturer. Buying a rifle (spendy) to shoot them in is another story. When current component shortage is over and done with we'll wonder WHY we did such crazy chit for our sport. Homesteader.

'steader,
Tough to get giddy about schit boolits, especially if you gotta buy/build a rifle to shoot the schitty boolits in. Hint.
The OP cited "100's" of 'em and I guess that is a "bunch" to some folks. I'd not dispute that quantity,as being such,to some.
I shoot a bit,so would simply trip the schit, score some goody and live more than a little. Good boolits of course still abound, for them inclined to procure same and it is hardly "daunting" to trip the schit,in order to score the good. Never be in a hurry to make bad decisions. Hint.
Hell...I may even shoot a 7mm to boot.(grin)

Put together or get a nice 7mm-08. You could then shoot the Sierras, and when you finished them off you'd still have a nice 7mm-08 in which to shoot other bullets.

I recently had a similar problem. 7mm bullets and 7-08 reloading dies were given to me. I decided to get a 7-08 and I've been happy with it. If I was to get another, I'd likely get a 280AI. Like what the 7saum has going for it but getting brass in the long run may be and issue. Getting brass for a 280 or a 7-08 won't be an issue.

Boxer - "especially if you gotta buy/build a rifle to shoot the schitty boolits in. Hint." Agree with you on that point. I've got a 7mm-o8 and 7RM with chambers to feed...LOL Homesteader.
