Is the Sparrow rated for the Hornet? One of those has been on my want list for a while now.

Sure is.

Well, thats great. So not only do I need a 22/45 Lite and a new barrel for my 10/22, I need to find a Stainless Laminate 77/22 to convert to K-Hornet. laugh

Might check with Silencerco to be sure, but the K-Hornet might be pushing it with the added velocity, etc.

I suspect it's as much to do with pressure and gas volume as actual velocity. The 22 Hornet only has a 43,000 CUP SAAMI max pressure. So if a guy is loading his Hornet to hotter levels, he might blow the can off the end of the barrel.

Like you said, it's worth a call to Silencerco. Let them know what you have in mind and see what they think. Because I wouldn't want to be "that guy" who bought a can and waited 11 months, then blows it to pieces the first day out. crazy

Edit: Perusing the Hodgdon 22 Hornet data, it looks like the famous 13 grains of Lil' Gun with a 40 grain bullet for ~3000 fps is quite mild on pressure. Well within SAAMI specs. So rock on!

No kidding. Not like thats anywhere close to being an issue at the moment but I'd definitely get the go ahead before pulling the trigger.

Does the 6 Creedmoor run well with RL 17 and the 105gr bullets?

I am on the fence between the .243 and the Creedmoor.

I've heard of a lot of people using RL 17 in the 6 Creedmoor with success...

What's not to like about the Creedmoor? 243 performance but in a better wrapper.

I'm only hesitant because of components. I'm really sick of playing with new cartridges but something is telling me the Creedmoor would be ideal.

About a 20" barrel. Shooting 105's with a can. Just seems to make sense.

Just build a 243. It's the 223 of the 6mm world. Fine performance. Works well in a short action. You won't worry about losing brass or finding new brass in either super spendy or cheap throwaway configuration. Or I dare say it, buy factory ammo for the brass. Even neck down your 7mm-08 when times are tough.
