How many have night sights on their carry pistols? Myself i usually won't carry a pistol for self defense unless i have night sights installed.

That is a yes, I think they are very high priority, it gets dark everyday. I like opening my eyes while in bed and seeing the glow on my bedside table.

Which sights do you like? I have looked at Bomar and Novak and am leaning toward the Novak for my 1911. Any opinions or comments?

Just my primary carry has night sights, and CTC. I don't look at them as a requirement, but they are nice to have. I can point shoot at eye level out to 20-25 yards all day long and score very well. Back in the old days, we practiced shooting without the aid of our sights...before the advent of tritium sights. If your presentation and stance is well practiced and consistent, you'd be amazed at how well you can hit without being able to see your sights.

Yes, I gotta have 'em if at all possible.

Have never seen anybody score poorer with night sights than without when shooting in low light.

I began many years ago, adding tritium sights to my personal protection handguns.

Best I've ever seen were the combo fiber optic/tritium sights on a friend's Glock (don't recall who made them). I'd love to have a set on my Commander, but I can't seem to find a set. I may bet a wild hair and make some; just picked up some 4140 steel; would be perfect.

Perhaps those sights on your friend's Glock were TFO by Truglo?

I have those on a G30 that is one of my carry shooters and tritium sights on a G27 that is another CCW shooter. As has been mentioned above it gets dark every day and a lot of bad stuff happens in the dark.

mine are all trijicon or meprolight. I have seen fiber optic sights all over the ground at matches and don't like them for a fighting gun.

Most of my carry guns have the Novak low profile Night Sights. But I've had a Glock 32 that has the Heine Straight Eight Night Sights. When my Novak Night Sighs finally go bad, I plan on replacing them all with the Heine Straight Eights,

With Pistols, I only have the Truglo combo sights on my Glock 27 and 19.

My RRA Elite Operator has a set of Troy BUIS with Trijicon inserts. My 581 series Mini-14 will get them next. At least the front.

I would like them for my PF-9, P-32 and Airweight Bodyguard. I don't believe they are available though.
