Ella, start looking now. Check local gun shops. The big stores are a waste of time. I think this BS is gonna get over with, by summer, but you never know. I scored a brick of CCI SV LR, yesterday, for $35. It's out there, you just have to keep looking. Ta hell with them bastids on the net, that want $80-$100 for a brick. I hope they eat it!!

I ran this by a guy I know at the NSA and he came back with this translation....

I have found that if a person enters into a public relief facility and unwittingly opens that cheap roll-out window sash due to the "heat" the previous occupant created while doing his "business" owing to the lack of sufficient ventilation otherwise and then attempts to practice calling on his newly acquired rabbit squeal per the written instructions included in the packaging in an urban environment he will immediately draw the attention of nearby canines, their owners and then in turn, the local constabulary, in dutiful response to the plaintiffs entreaties long before he can conclude his turn on the porcelain and dispose of the resultant production well before he is able to master the intricacies of the recently obtained reed instrument.

Lockhart,
It's a VXII 3-9x40. A little big, but my eyes like it.

Maddog,
My local gun shop hasn't had any .22 in months though for a while they were getting a trickle in every few weeks. I hear the Walmart and Academy get some in, but I've never seen it. They're always out by the time I get over there. I remember shaking my head at folks who were stockpiling a year ago. I never figured it'd still be a problem getting ammo.

$80 per year, or $11 for a one-day permit. Lots of camp sites and lots of squirrels in the Mark Twain National Forest. Lots of ticks too, bring protection. It also goes better if you can identify poison ivy without touching it.

Well, I'm getting closer in stockpiling my camping gear for some campout/squirrel hunts, next fall. Got tent, cot, cast iron skillet, plates and some cooking utensils, water jugs, and yesterday I bought a 2 burner coleman stove and a couple of propane canisters. The rest of the stuff I think I need, I'll pick up at some garage sales this spring.

Just 7 weeks until timber chicken season opens here in Southeast Missouri. I just traded for a Remington 511 with hard trigger pull. I hope I get it lightened before then. The sear engagement on those old guns leave a lot to be desired.

The Saturday of Memorial Day weekend in May opens squirrel season here in Missouri.

I usually don't mess with spring squirrels but this year I might make an exception since I just bought a 1968 Belgian Browning Auto Five 20 gauge vent rib 28" modified choke barrel - unfired and mint condition. Can't have that and the first available game will be squirrel season so I may just break the little lady A5 in on some squawks in May.

I wish we had a spring squirrel season. I'd rather hunt them than turkey. May limbchicken sounds like a fine spring.
