There are several vendors who perform that service.

Check this link. http://www.redmansrifling.com/liners.htm

I dont think the bolt on that early rifle is up to handling 38 special pressure.Maybe 38 short or 38 long caliber would be o.k..I know Marlin dont recommend the use of high velocity 22 ammo in their early model 39 rifles becuse of the bolt design.

Marlin makes a 38sp/357 lever gun already. Why not just find one of these and keep the 22?

If I read the OP correctly, it's a vintage Marlin .32 Rimfire, not a .22. I can understand wanting to use that gun with modern ammo in CAS.

If the .32 Marlin doesn't have collector value, it possibly could be made into a CAS .38 Spec. Those loads are low pressure. The firing pin/bolt would need some fabrication. And, of course, if it was mine, I'd stay away from +P ammo and loads hotter than typical CAS fodder.

I'd call the vendor link I posted earlier and if the conversion is possible they'll tell you.

Let us know what you find out.

I have a super slick 1894 Cowboy Competition .38 Spec. set up for CAS. Action was already slicked up when I bought it used. I drew working drawings of high end Winchester checkering, sent the wood to Errol Case in Mo. I eventually graduated to '73's. This is the slickest Marlin I've ever handled.

I have already researched the feasiblilty . The marlin has a centerfire firing pin available, probably will try to do it it in a 32 sw for short range plinking and reload the 32 sw. It appears the 38 spc is a little lomg as it is but the 32sw worked thru it nice, just need to find someone to rechamber to a 32sw. Thanks

Sounds like you've thought it through.

.32 centerfire may be a better option than .38 Spec. for that old gun.

Would love to follow project with you. Need photos as it develops.

I chambered a old 32 rimfire Stevens favorite,i made a new center fire breach block and rechambered it into 32 S&W short, the favorites are not a real strong action ,but the little short shoots great in it. Don
