Bet that was cool.
I love my 44mag lever gun but I'd never suppress it. Sure would like to shoot someone else's though. smile

I don't want one to have and hold forever. Just want to shoot one:)

Hell, even if I did want one, at my age I'd probably be dead before they got around to sending me the stamp if I applied today. I've read of cases where guys waited well over a year.

I know I did. Lame.

I'll bring it down there so you can shoot a chuck with it...

Suppressed 300 Blackout = Cool on the AR Platform.

Skip to 3:00 for sub-sonic demo.

twofish,

I want to leave my AR as is, but do you know anything about the 6mm Whisper? I have a 6mm Hart laying in the garage and I wouldn't mind trying something more quieter on a bolt gun.

I do not have any personal experience with them but I would think they would be great in a bolt gun.

Lots of bullet choices, no recoil and super quiet.

The only real limiting factor may be effective range but you are gonna be limited there with any sub-sonic. May have to load down a bit to get the lighter bullets to sub levels but IDK.

I think it would be a cool set-up to have and a blast to shoot since you already have the barrel.

JBM shows marginal stability with a 105 Amax or a 105 Berger from an 8 twist at subsonic speeds.

If you were to drop down much in bullet weight to gain stability, you wouldn't be gaining much over a subsonic 223, which when run through JBM with a 70 grain Berger and an 8 twist shows great stability, though much less so with longer bullets. It appears the heavies designed to fit in AR mags will stabilize, at least according to this program.

If I was looking to throw a big subsonic bullet, I'd want to go a lot bigger than a 6mm. Otherwise I'd just run a 223 (or a 22 LR, for that matter) and be merry. Dump the 6mm barrel and find an 8 twist 30 cal....AAC makes ready to run 300 blackout barrels chambered and threaded for Remington 700s, sold through Midway.

That makes sense PG. Moot point anyway because my donor is a .473. I guess I'm just thinking out loud.

Off to the range with the new toy. 69gr. Sierras are shooting well so far.

I had my daughter record me from about 20yds away because I wanted an idea of what a dog would hear as I shot his friend. Really takes the sound out of a 16" AR.

69's are under MOA to the 200. I'm done. Loading up a pile of them.

Try loading up some 69 grain sub-sonic rounds over Trail Boss or Blue Dot and see how they do!

Get a .308 chambered barrel, load 208s to 240s for quiet, and slay stuff.
