Picked up a nice little drilling (pics in the future), the rifle barrels is chambered in 6.5x58R Sauer and am looking for brass and or dies to reload.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

If you have a 9,3X72R case see if the extractor will catch the rim; it's .019 smaller, and the base is just a little smaller. With the big taper and low pressures, you might be able to use the 9,3 brass.

Bertram lists it, but try to find any.

Huntington lists dies for about $145.00, so that isn't too bad.

I have a couple of wanted adds out and will see if I get any bites, then I'll order some brass, I've found a couple places that have it in stock but spendy. C&H makes dies also, I like them and have been using some of their dies since the 70's. I'm waiting until I have a chance to slug the barrel, C&H will customize them for you.

I have a drilling in the 6.5x58R Sauer. A couple years ago midway had brass but that was before all these shortages.

From Huntington and Midway that must be Bertram brass. I've read horror stories about it splitting on the first firing, rims too thick. Now that you've used it how do you find the Bertram brass to be working for you.

It is thick but I have had not problem with it splitting. Rim exactly fits my gun.

suggested load data?

a friend of mine (who does not reload) has one, he found dies & brass and I have some 130gr .264 bullets I don't plan to use set aside for him, what powder should he get (assuming we can ever find powder again) and what charge should use start with?

(this is a procrastinator-driven project several years in the works)

There is limited load data in COTW. I'd slug the bore, mine is .248 bore diameter and .260 groove diameter. I'll be sizing down .264 bullets to .260 or .261 for mine.

That nice you've got a great selection of bullets. I'm partial to the 117gr RN in my 25-35 and 250 Sa.

I have a set of dies and 20 pieces of brass on the way, still looking for some additional brass.
