After the range time a week or so ago with the wife, I ordered her a Smith M&P 9C which is the gun she really liked. I didn't want her to be the only 9mm in the house, so I ordered a Glock 19 for me. They showed up yesterday. Its kind of like Christmas. I haven't let her know that hers in the safe or that I bought mine. Kind of waiting for the right moment, or her birthday. Kind of nice having a snow plowing store credit at the local shop. I also had to get the 33 round extended mag for the glock just for funzies while blowing up targets.

They are a lot of fun. Lots of pride in ownership aspect, too, in that handguns are some of the coolest of human artifacts, just conceptually. One of the things that clearly distinguishes us from the beasts, i.e., personal weapons made from the human mind rather than being born with them.
