Been out and flying around the past several days, seeing a lot of tracks and abandoned den sites. Apparently some of those older age-class males are already on the move. Saw a real nice male on the Kenai day before yesterday (16 April 2014) on the slopes above Moose Creek in GMU 07. Nice bear.

Do you ever fly upside down, so you can see way back into the den?

Yeah, not too long ago there were all those Kenai Peninsula guys who were on this site and who'd been ranting and raving about having registration permits So, I thought I'd help them out a little. Apparently they're all blow-hards.

In any case, I used too chase some huge brownies up in that country that I was flying a couple days ago.

In fact, I chased one bear for over 20 years. I think I eventually "got" him though, when I found him and another large male that had killed each other at the mouth of Moose Creek. He scored 29+ and the other male alongside him scored 27+. Those are monster bears for the Kenai.

Anyways ......

Seen tracks coming over the mountain behind the house a couple weeks ago and a little activity around Cold Bay.

Bears been out in OTZ country for a week or more. Good spring....

Fellow stopped by my ice-fishing hole a week ago on his way back to town said he'd seen 5 that day.

He was looking for geese, tho.... he might have missed some, smile

I respectfully disagree:

As not long ago supposed GMU 15 and GMU 7 RG recipients were heavily networked via this site and doing so in specific reference to the potential or possible killing of coastal brown bear within those GMUs, you included (of course).

In any case, a client and I just returned from a successful coastal brown bear hunt. My next departure with a client is Sunday (04 May 2014).

Anyway, best wishes to everyone else's spring hunting ventures.

Isn't it great to get paid to go hunting grin

Yeah, it is, but it comes with accountability and responsibility, plus a significant amount of stress. I personally escort all my clients in the field and consequently, I do not employ Assistant Guides. But, I only entertain an total of 15 clients (maximum), spring and fall combined. Even still, being accountable and responsible for that very limited number of clients and at the same time being in the field with them while trying to fulfill their lifelong dreams of killing whichever big game animal they're pursuing, creates a substantial amount of stress. After all, my actions and/or decisions in the field directly relate to the outcome of a hunt, successful or not. However, I am a professional killer and as such, I enjoy the profession of escorting people in the field while they attempt to fulfill their killing or killer-instinct dreams. Going back out for coastal brown bear on Sunday, with a client from Maine. Good times ..........

Rob, if you choose not to post about the hunt here, please PM any details you'd care to share.
