Finally got out west to shoot these gophers everyone is always talking about and holyschit that is fun. Went through over 400 17hmr rounds on them. I can see how a guy could shoot a barrel out on a centerfire in a weekend shooting them things. We drove around all afternoon in the rhino shooting the schit outta them.

Got another woodchuck down by the driveway that's fixing to bust a litter.

It'll bring back fond memories of last year when I went gonzo on the kids:

That's my Taurus 431 .44 Special with the coon. He'd been coming around for a couple days and acting very strange. I literally had to shake the bird feeder he was sleeping in to get him to wake up, jump down and mosey away. He just didn't seem right, so he got XTP'd.

Mama had tried to shoot him a couple days before with her SP101 snubbie, but only managed to perforate a bird feeder and kill a tree. grin

Ah, the .44 spl.. even though most of my .44's are mag.s I usually use the 44 spl. brass in them and special loads..

Best to take no chances with animals that could be sick.. Or become to tame.. Good shooting..

Bad day for the gophers. Took the new to me 17 Remington out and blasted gophers with it. Of course the barrel fouled out in 15 rounds, but I kept on shooting and the gophers kept getting hit, somehow...
