I just learned about this forum and I'm excited to join. I tried to find a new member introduction forum but had no luck, I hate to make my initial post a sales ad. But here I go.

I can supply references from multiple forums for successful painless online transactions. I use the same username on all forums so I'm easy to check into

Here is the story, I picked this up to strip it down and use the action for a ultralight weight hunting rifle build. But since I've decided to build a 6.5 Creedmoor, so I need a short action. Alos, this thing shoots quite well and I just feel bad tearing it apart.

As you can see someone at some point gave it a half-assed coating job. It's a home job of duracoat as far as I can tell, and it does clean off with acetone. I spent a few minutes stripping it off the bolt, but then left it alone since it would get media blasted anyways since I was going to do a build. I'm going to leave it as is and let the new owner do what they like, but the coating has poor adhesion and does flake off without much effort.

I am going to sell this to raise the cash to purchase a titanium action from Pierce Eng. Then I can build what I was planning on without destroying this nice rifle.

$1575 shipped to your FFL.

Do you have pics of the Serial number?

I'm traveling to Boston on business until Thursday, I can get the serial number when I get home. But I do remember it's a lower number than I'm used to seeing on a Rem rifle.

Since I've been asked serval times I figured I'd just add it here, yes the mounts and rings are included. I don't know what brand of rings they are but they are 30mm with 1" inserts.

And long action...

If there is any proof of a man in a hunt it is not whether he killed a deer but how he hunted it.

Nothing wrong at all with the long action.
Flatter shooter and more versatile. This gun will hunt anything in N.A. with the right load...

Some blast media and this one will be a peach.

Thanks broomd, I'm going to media blast it and see if that helps people get past the bad coating. If not, I guess I'll just hang onto it.

Ok, I've decided if I strip the coating I'll just keep it.

So this will be up another day or two and then I'll pull it off the market.

I've come to the decision to keep it, I bead blasted it this morning with low pressure and it came out wonderful. I'm going to move ahead with the build using this action. Thanks for all the questions and trade offers.
