You guys didn't do a good job talking me out of one. It's a rubicon, 4 door, with everything, Granite Crystal color. Will pick it up Thursday.
You're going to enjoy it! Lift that baby & put some 33" or 35" tires on it. Did you get both tops with it?

No soft top. Wasn't ordered for this one. Had a big smile on my face today.

I think that's a pretty good choice. I thought hard about a Rubicon Unlimited, instead of a new F150. The Rubicons seem to be very well thought out, with Dana 44 axles front & rear, and a beefed up transfer case. I still have my Red 04 F150; I keep thinking about trading for a smaller 4x4; Maybe it will be an older Jeep...or maybe I'll just keep it

I ordered mine with the lower gears since I knew I was going to put 35's on it right out of the gate ... gas mileage wasn't a concern since it's not a daily driver

My 2013 4dr Rubicon 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers & a 3" BDS lift That is sweet, I really like the 4 door. I have the old man's 2003 tucked away in a warehouse with only 5k miles on it, just waiting to be hooked up to the Lance.

Creature comforts have been added by the truck load. Good/bad, I don't know. I do still have my PU as the towing vehicle, kept the 06 Rubi, couldn't get rid of the last of the smaller Jeeps size that I own. Only reason I got this new one. Going to 4x4 a little in SW Colorado this coming summer and was getting a little worried about the age of the 06. Long drive, hard use for a short while, then a long drive home. I don't like break downs on the road. Of any kind while out and about the country. One heck of a lot of money for a trip.

Going to go pick it up soon. I'll drive it out to your place, when we get Karnis on board, for a look. Then must see the one your rebuilding. On to the range to shoot then.
If Karnis is still hurting a little, will do the above without his ass on board.

When I was living in NC I had neighbors over, and the lady across the street asked, "why do you have two pickups?" I said, "basically because I can" Her husband laughed and said, There ya go!". She turned and pointed a finger at him and said, "you stop that right NOW!" So occasionally I park both pickups in the driveway, just to make guys in the neighborhood envious

Your older one as trade will knock the top off of a good Jeep. Price wise. That said Jeep if an unlimited, is big enough inside to get your weekend deer hunting stuff to your 300 mile away lease in style and comfort Pat.
I did say Unlimited size. Rides good on the HWY. Doesn't beat the kidneys to death.

If I lived in the US, I would love one of the older/smaller Jeeps.
Looking at the way things are going on the British market, in a few years they might be the only choice for a "real" 4x4, depending on what LandRover replace the Defender with..

Never been in an English 4x4. How good are they in your opinion.

Older and smaller-------old and smaller out in this country means, cold/hot, wet and not much power if it's street legal. Son has the 46 Willy's I gave him, fun to drive but only on dirt, still stock.

I'd hook that sucker up to your Lance and go. Your in the 4x4 mecca as far as trails go of the US. That one have the D44's, lockers etc.

Never been in an English 4x4. How good are they in your opinion. The basic LandRovers like the Defender were great off road, but always had reliability issues. I would go as far to say, the Defender fills the same niche as the smaller Jeeps do in the US, and have the same mixed reputation. Sadly, LandRover have gradually drifted away from their roots ie a work horse 4x4 (the Defender) and have gradually gone towards luxury over complicated yuppie vehicles like the Range Rover. But they still have not managed to get the reliability issues sorted! I have driven a lot of Land Rovers of various sorts over the years, but I've never felt confident enough to put my own into buying one..
