OP deerstalker Campfire Outfitter Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 14,037 North of Bonners Ferry ID.	gentlemen, I am reading a Clive Cussler book and the villain is using model 1895 45/70 in the year 1899. what is wrong with that picture? was the model of 1895 chambered in 45/70? the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded. OP deerstalker Campfire Outfitter Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 14,037 North of Bonners Ferry ID.	well since I was wondering, I went to the only source I could find Norm Flayderman's (sic)?. the 1895 marlin did come in 45/70. but the action was like the 93-94 with a closed bolt. not that this info is going to cure anything except curiosity. mine. book still had it wrong with the current 1895 being shown. the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded.
