Not a bad idea to set up a tour of the taxidermist when you go on a hunt. That way you can see their operation, meet whoever you will be communicating with on your mounts and have a better idea if they do quality work by seeing some of their finished mounts. Also gives you some great ideas on how you would like the mounts done. We did this with Life-Form in SA before our hunt. They did a fine job and we had excellent communications throughout and everything still looks good more than 10 years later.
We now do our taxidermy stateside just because we have a friend who does taxidermy here.

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

rogn, did you get your money back, or some of it? I lost big time, I have not received a single penny; all I got from the shipper, and the trucking company are a bunch of lies & excuses!

If it is paint then remove it with thinner on a rag

Fix the color after you remove the paint by applying wax based shoe polish

I've had it done both ways and after 5 hunts I'm ahead with the African taxidermists. I had a shipment sent to a guy in Texas in 2009 and I'm still waiting for an eland and a gemsbuck. I've heard every possible excuse and even had picture of the animals sent to me but so far no eland or oryx. My lawyer is now in the deal.

Lifeforms in White River. RSA seems to be a very reputable taxidermist.

Para, the Taxiderm in SA shipped the stuff and paid shipping costs. That eased the pain a bit, not as much as I wanted. Next time its going to be a host of photos and bypass all this other nuisance.
