its an 88' Custom shop 22-250 a pilot pal, Beechcraft dealer with an FFL special ordered back in 87, I have shipping sleeve, box, order form, Custom shop letter and all correspondence with the custom shop, it has Beuler or Burris. rings, the gun was scoped and 9 rounds fired to zero. Im not sure who made barrel but it was lead lapped as was the action hand honed, I have shot the gun maybe 25 times with 5 factory ammos, with the white box 45 gr ammo it shot a 5 shot 1/4 " 100 yard group, it may wel be most accurate gun I have ever shot bar none! The old gent found out he had cancer or was sick and sold me the gun for exactly what he had in it in 88' 1100 or 1200 bucks.I could tell he really hated to part with it.He even sent the box of ammo he zeroed with ,including the 8 or 9 empty hulls. The wood is fantastic, he ordered the action matte like the older pre 64 guns. It is a very special, well documented piece that I treat with kid gloves when I shoot it ! very best WinPoor

WP: sounds like a cool rifle. just curious. Is the trigger on the custom shop 88 as bad as the standard triggers?

All my mod 70's have nice triggers, I have a 100 and a 490 that I wish I could tune the triggers a bit.WinPoor

Here's my two. The top one is just a plain-Jane '63 270 WCF with a period Lyman All-American 6x scope, my Jack O'Connor rifle. The bottom one is a much newer XTR Classic Sporter also 270 bore but this one's a 270 Weatherby with a Leupold VX-III 2-8. Both are great shooters.

Here's some recent ones of my battered 1952 .270 standard grade. It wears an older 4X Lyman in vintage Redfield Jr steel mounts. My current "favorite". It groups plain old Rem Core-Lokts into the magical one-inch range most of the time. It's not tuned, bedded, lightened, refinished or messed-with. This one is growing on me, despite my preference for straight-stocked .30-06 M70s. I have a lot of rifles, but this one (along with a .30-06 M70) would easily fill all my hunting needs. I have a couple of extra minty 4X Lymans set aside, just in case. A true classic.

Lots of field use, but no abuse. Varnish is still pretty much intact.

Older Lyman 4X scope, probably from the late '50's or early '60's. Optics are still clear and sharp. Reticle is post and crosshair.

My lowly push feed in .300 H&H Mag, one of the first push feeds done in H&H in 1988 as a limited run for Wammes Corporation (now Acusport). They offered a standard and a Safari Grade, this one is the latter.
