If I live in a state that gives CCW permits and requires that I notify Jack Booted Thugs if I am addressed in an official capacity that I am packing heat, and I travel to a state that I can carry concealed in due to reciprocity, but does not have a notify clause, am I free to shut my pie hole?
I assume I am, otherwise I would hit a gray area with regards to those "No gun on premises" signs which some states state do not have weight in law, and some do.
Basically, am I restricted to my states limitations outside of my state?

There is an Old Saying, "ignorance of the law is no excuse." I agree that you should check the laws of the state you are going in to so there are no problems. Since the state you are going into allows you to carry as well, why not just let an officer know you have a gun on you. That officer will respect you and not feel so guarded when he/she finds the weapon.

You have no obligation to disclose you are carrying a legally concealed firearm, unless directly questioned by a sworn law officer. Don't speed, don't drink, don't get in fights, don't look like Biker or Homie and the issue will never arise. Reciprocity is all right here on the internet: http://www.usacarry.com/concealed_carry_permit_reciprocity_maps.html

In Oklahoma, if you are pulled over by police/state troopers, it is required for you to show your permit when handing the officer your license. I assume that is the same in most states where reciprocity exists.
There are 2 rules to success:
1. Never tell everything that you know.

Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.

Not required in Kentucky. You could tell me if you wanted to, or not. Didn't matter to me.
My standard answer to people who told me that they had a concealed carry permit and were carrying, was:
"Very good, sir. If you don't pull yours, I won't pull mine and we can go on about our business."
I never even asked to see them.
I am for all the good folks having a gun. I will have mine, and I encourage you to have yours.
