Keeping me totally off. It is a code problem with THIS web site and none of the others I frequent.

Twenty minutes to write this ... all fighting that damned "stack overflow at line:1"

The only way I'm able to get a post in is to write in on Notepad, then copy and paste into the quick reply box.

Just for kicks and giggles, I'm trying Google Chrome as a browser. Don't like the look, but so far no lockup.

Edit to say that so far no problems, other than it looks like schit. No lockup, but will dump the Google Chrome as soon as Rick has it figgered out.

Blessings,

kd

Hi Guys:

At least for some, the stack overflow message seems to be related to an outdated version of ADOBE Flash, which program has been particularly problematic with browsers the last few iterations.

Please go to www.adobe.com, and update your Flash program, and please let me know if that fixes things for some of you.

Working on it here!

ok, here is some more detailed information:

"Stack Overflow error messages normally mean that a program is using more than its allocation of memory. This is known as the call stack and it is set when the program is launched. Thats the easy part. Why it happens is another matter and it can be due to a multitude of different things, but here are a few things to try. My guess is your daughter is using Internet Explorer; if so, one very quick and simple cure is to switch to another browser, like Firefox, Chrome or Safari. You can download these free browsers here.

If she wants to stay with Internet Explorer then try disabling any add-ons by going to Tools > Internet Options > Programs tab and click the Manage Add-Ons button. Under Add-On Types click Toolbars and Extensions. Select approximately half the entries (hold down the Shift key and click them one at a time) then click the Disable All button. If the problem persists disable the other half. If at any point the problem disappears you can isolate the culprit by re-enabling them one at a time. By the way, while you are there I would get rid of any extra toolbars that you dont use, they often cause problems and can really slow the browser down. If that hasnt helped try this: go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab and in the Settings Box select Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer) and Disable Script Debugging (other), click OK and see what happens. Finally, if all else fails, reset Internet Explorer to its factory defaults. Go to Internet Options > Advanced tab and click the Reset button, read the warnings, and if you are happy to proceed confirm by clicking Reset and then Close."

It shouldn't be happening on Explorer either, but the latest versions of that program are nicknamed "Exploder" for a reason.

Still working on things here. Glad you're squared away.
