Neat pics ERL...

Never understood why the designers went down the "wood" route, but pretty neat to see them restored..

Don't know what that last one is, but I like it..

What pier was that top pic taken from.?

I once visited a place where BBQ was a verb, Canadian whiskey was the norm and no sweet tea on the menu. Hell on earth for a Southern boy!!

It's a one-off (to my knowledge) custom Studebaker. It's running a 390 w/FE heads and a really funky vintage, dual intake. I'll post a couple more pictures.

I love those old woodies.
My grandfather had a 48 Willis, and his friend, and business partner had a Chevy, both woodies.

Definitely a Ford, but I'm not sure of the year. I think 1940 is in the ball park. It was a pretty cool rig.

I believe it is a 1939 Deluxe, the 1940 Standard use a very similar grill but the 1940 Deluxe had a slightly different grill. I doubt that a factory woodie would have been available in a Standard model.

Other thing I remember from back in the day - the Standard only had one tail light, the Deluxe had 2 tail lights. The 1939 model had teardrop tail lights, the 1940 model had chevron tail lights.

Yeah, I am old but some of my best memories are of my 40 2-door sedans I had in high school. Lots of room in the back seats in those cars.

Along about 59 -60 I built a real stoplight bandit, a purely stock looking 40 2-door sedan with a Chev 283 in it. I dumped the tailpipes just behind the axle so the dual exhaust was not obvious, ran fairly quiet mufflers on it so that when it was idling there was nothing to give it away from being anything but a stock 40 sedan with a flathead in it. It sure left a lot of surprised looks at the stoplight.
