School me on the Browning B-92 in 44 mag. Good and bad? Not many completed sales on GB; are they that hard to come by? Is a LNIB Centennial model worth $700? Thanks

IIRC, it's the Miroku '92 just like the current '92 Winchester.
Those are some of the best made '92's ever, vintage Winchesters included.
IMHO,

DF Yep. I had one several years ago and I'm stil regretting that I sold it. You don't see them come up for sale very often, nowadays.

Yeah, folks got'em tend to keep'em...
They may not have made big numbers of them. Just not sure about how many, but numbers produced may also affect turnover.

$700 for a LNIB model Centennial sounds reasonable. I paid $550 for mine 5 years ago (but no box). The Centennial models are no big deal really, just have a bit of engraving on them. That one at $700 is a far better buy than a Rossi or Puma at $450-500. Get it and never look back...or sell it!

I had a 357 B-92 it was a sweet little carbine I wish I would have never sold.
Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

My 44 Magnum B-92 is a fine lever action rifle. I'd like to find one in 357 also.

The John Moses Browning design is strongest in class. Those Miroku '92's should be as strong as Rossi, etc. I don't know if the Rossi .454's have different metal hardening, etc. If not, the Miroku should do anything the Rossi can do.

Not a expert by any means but passed on one years ago for $400 and still regretting it. They are great looking rifles and frankly seeing what the marlin 44 mags are bringing I think $700 is pretty decent price. Just my $.02

$700 is decent and worth every penny. I bought my first B92 NIB around '85 for $300 OTD. I found another at an estate sale NIB for $650 a couple years ago and snagged it without a second thought. That was a few weeks after a gunshow where I was helping a buddy find a Marlin 44mag... We walked past a table and a B92 44 caught my eye. I looked down at the tag and it listed $425. I picked up the rifle and said "He'll take it" My buddy looked at me confused and said "I'm looking for a Marlin" I gave him a very convincing look and said "We'll find you a Marlin as soon as you're done buying this"
I'm afraid those deals are few and far between these days.

Well, Iooked at the gun, it was $749+tax. Had pretty average stock and I really did not like the gold "bling" Centennial stuff. It was nice but I passed; it did sell pretty soon thereafter.

I don't like commemoratives. With a few exceptions, they don't seem to sell for more and I don't like all the lazer applied glitz.
