I just finished up a book about the experience: Alone in the Fortress of the Bears: 70 Days Surviving Wilderness Alaska; Foraging, Fishing, Hunting.
You can see a link to the cover in the O.P.

If you can't get 'fat' along the SE Alaska coast during the summer, you're doing something VERY wrong...... It's funny how different the world looks when you're actually out there and you have to walk and paddle for miles a day, when the fish aren't biting and your crap trap is empty, you're waiting for deer season to open and the berries aren't ripe yet. Not many fat people on a pure subsistence diet.
