Does anyone know if the search on 24hr has a way to use logic to narrow down the searches? For example, if I search for '30 cal bullets', I get pages of stuff that shows any of 30, cal, or bullets. Can I use 'and' or 'or', maybe '+' or '-' to look for hits that only show all 3 words? I haven't been able to get it to work if I can.

I hate search engines that default to 'or' and won't let you enter an 'and'.

I'd just type out the question.

Put the phrase between double quote marks - "30 cal bullets"

That will find only those posts containing that exact phrase, except it will also get .30 cal bullets with the decimal in front as well. Like the single word search when you click on the link it goes to the whole thread but will locate within the thread on the post you're looking for.

Unlike the single word search it doesn't highlight the phrase in yellow but at least you get only those posts you want - not 30 OR cal OR bullet.

using the quotes, though, will cut out 'bullets 30 cal', '30 caliber bullets', etc. You have to guess the exact phrase and spelling the poster used.

Very true - that is the one drawback in that you have to use the exact phrase.

But you can combine the most likely phrases in one search with each one surrounded by quotes - "30 cal bullets" "30 caliber bullets" "bullets 30 cal".

That will find any post that has any one of those phrases, same as using 30 cal bullets without quotes would find any post with 30 OR cal OR bullets.

Been programming these computers for 33 years and the damn things still take everything you say literally, they haven't figured out they're supposed to do what you meant for them to do.

Some of the big box stores, Lowes for example, have terrible search engines. Lowes has 'OR's built in and you can't change it. They don't have an option to search titles only, either. For every little search you get pages of junk to sort through.
