Kind of testing the waters here.

I recently got a bunch of soft sheet lead , by all accounts it is something like 99.9% pure.

I don't really NEED it.

I think 10 lbs of ingots will fit in a small flat rate box.

So , is 10 lbs of pure lead worth $20 shipped ?

A buck a lb used to be the normal going rate for most alloys, plus the cost of flat rate shipping. It may have increased slightly, but not much.

I've purchased several ton of WW & range lead alloy over the last couple years & never paid over 1.25 delivered. In fact most was closer to 1.00/lb. Normally it arrived in a medium flat rate box.

I agree. If you find a local muzzle loader who wants soft lead they might pay more than $1 per pound but that is the price that lead of any kind seems to have settled at.

USPS has flat rate boxes that will ship up to 70#. I purchase pure from John Walters in 70# lots that go for about $1/#+shipping.

The post office is overjoyed.

Just saw this....if you need to be relieved of that lead, I'd give you a Jackson to get those 10lbs of pure lead delivered to me. wink

about a dollar and a quarter per pound shipped is about average.

Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.

When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.
