Am I the only person not using a d loop on my compound? I hunt very thick cover in Pa and limit my shots to 20 yards. What are the pros and cons. I am satisfied with my accuracy and arrow flight. Longer serving life ? Would I have to adjust the draw length on my bow ? Like to hear your thoughts on this subject.

You've listed most of the gains, are you shooting with a release?

Yes I use a Scott Little Goose. My main question is what would it do to my draw length setting on my bow ?

D Loop does nothing to the draw length. It only affects your anchor point.

That is like saying, "The shortage of bread doesn't affect me, as I only eat toast".

AMO(Archery Manufacturers Organization) industry standard for measuring draw length is from the string where it contacts the nock groove to the front of the grip. D LOOP DOES NOT FACTOR INTO THAT MEASUREMENT. A 30" draw bow with a 1 foot long d loop is still 30" draw

I think he meant he would need to have the draw length shortened to keep the same anchor point essentially...

Yeah, but you can only change the position of your arm/hand so much, and no more. Sometimes changing releases can work this out. Something like a Winn Free Flight maybe. A Winn Free Flight and a proper D-loop is almost as fast as fingers.
