Yep, I don't shiv a git and won't suffer fools. I am too damn old to worry about hurting somebody's feelers as well. The fill in secretary asked me today to add Transmittal to the data entry I been doing as SAO for 3 different districts because she does it that way. I told her if that is how she wanted it done I would be more than happy to turn the chore over to her as I am not a typist, just a hunt and pecker and it was too much trouble IMNSHO! She just shook her head and walked off, I dropped 56 SAO's into the system a little later as I always have. smile

"Gettin' farred" is like a great opportunity to kiss a bad headache goodbye and make a fresh start. The most successful people in the world have been fired several times over their lifetime. I think it happens when the boss figures you could do their job as good or better smile

I just wanna take up the "old start".

I was young and totally irresponsible once upon a time.

I let it get away from me.

It happened in increments. I didn't notice it fer about 35 years,...and then one day it slapped me in the face.

The old age slap will hang ya up.

You'll be like,.."I gotta fix this!",...and then your mind starts turnin',....yet you go on back to work every day.

,...but I know how I am,...at my core.

The core hasn't been accessed for quite some time,....not since I didn't have anything to lose.

Then one day you realize that, regardless of what you've accumulated in the sense of comfort and security,.. you've never had anything to lose.

It's all an illusion,....brought on by the lies that you tell yourself,...

The only free people are those who understand that nothing on earth really means anything.

Most of 'em are street people.

It's best if you figure it out early.

If not, you find yourself pushin' 60 and thinkin', "How the hell did I get here and how the hell do I get someplace else?"

It's quite a conundrum.

My biggest ace in the hole is,..whatever I do, it'll only marginally affect anybody else.

,....so I sit,....on a Friday evening,...after yet another 5 days of work,...and try to work it out.

,...been going on for a while,...and it's starting to get worked out.

It's gonna be fun.

I'm looking forward to it.

"Life after the acceptance of mortality."

or,..... "freedom"

,...same thing.

,...had the tube snatched outta my dick about 13 years ago.

,..layin' there in that hospital bed with my tongue poked out,...

Maybe it was a blessing,...telling me that, "This isn't going to last. You need to make the most of it,...then you can do something else."

I kinda feel like I might have wasted alla that since then.

Like,...I ignored the wake up call.

And it was a hell of a lot to waste.

Maybe I need to go on,....live it out like it's suppose to be,...get it out of the way,...do it up right,..

,...and then move on

It's pretty much been a pain in the ass, anyway.

Well,...some of it,...some of it's been good.

I need to make the remainder good,...in the way that I see it.

It's not that hard to do,..really.

Just live it until it's over.

The longer it goes on,....the more I think that it's supposed to be done that way.

Today is the oldest you have ever been and the youngest you will ever be again.

I am into quality of life, not quantity. Enjoy it while you have it, dead is forever.

What thread on the campfire isn't complaining about something or someone?

Is that a rhetorical question?

just free form friday night rambling

transitions coming,...makes my mind toss stuff back and forth.

I tend to try to organize it all by typing it out, posting it then reading it back to myself.

,...seeing how other people see it.

Mostly, I think I'm trying to live it before it actually arrives.

Geez man, I'm feeling an old familiar twang when I read this stuff. Dredges up ex-wifes, a year on the road with a travel travel trailer, a canoe, a quad, and a crcrazyzy wench. Trips to Idaho together, with me coming home alone...

Ain't me envyin' your spot. It didn't solve a thing making little swirling noises all over the west as I spun my wheels.

fer my money, find yer place in the world, which has to include people you can trust and love, and dig in for the haul... It ain't gettin' better.

Oh,..It's not something I'm dreading at *all*. All of that divorce and resettlement stuff is in my distant past.

I'm just making retirement plans.

I've got a good place and some good people.

It's just that I like to roam,..and I enjoy thinking about it,..and sometimes typing about it.

It was how I celebrated my Friday night.

After another cup of coffee, I'm going out to do a bit of roaming today,...then again tomorrow.

I only get to do it a day or two at a time right now,..but soon I'll be able to do it as much as I want.

I can't wait.

That's all this rambling has been about.

anticipation.

Bristoe, one of the most liberating things I have learned in my life: "never love anything that doesn't love you back". Thanks to my BIL Danny for that wisdom.

So nobody should have problems?

So nobody should say anything about his problems?

Which?

Both?

"Good enough" isn't.
