Hit the Kenai on Friday, don't ever recall seeing so many people, North shore was literally shoulder the shoulder the entire length of the beach.

It was slow but we still managed 19, even after breaking my nets hoop after the 5th fish

I think I'll spring for a Mike's welding net next season, can't complain about ~10 years service from my home made conduit hoop.

I took my boat down and fished all day Wednesday and the morning tide on Thursday. We put in about 18 hrs of dipping and took 50 fish for the 3 of us. The place was a zoo. We put in at about 5:00 AM both mornings. Taking out on Wed was a least a 90 minute wait. Thursday mid day took about 10 minutes. It was certainly entertaining. There are some boats that have no business being out there!

Thinking about hitting the Copper in a few days. I heard the Kenai was a zoo as per usual.

Mikes nets rock, i've got a Copper River dipnet and that thing is hell for stout and heavy but catches fish like a mofo.

That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

it is when they're running good and you limit out in a few hours.

but solo it feels like work, I like to go with someone and hopefully catch a good run, one guy netting, the other knockin heads and cutting tails and stringing

and if they ain't running strong and the wind is blowing, well it kinda SUCKS! lol.....but you knew that

Yeah, and don't forget the bugs, when the wind isn't blowing they can make dipping miserable.

You headed down there this year? I'd like to make the trip but like you said, going solo makes the fishing feel like work.

Wow! Looking at the near and far horizons, that appears to be a wilderness adventure.

That's nothing, when we got there the near horizon was literally shoulder to shoulder the whole width.

A wilderness experience it is not, but on a good day you'll get a years supply of salmon in a few hours.
