I want to load the Barnes 130 gr TTSX in a 30-06.

I am looking for a powder recommendation?

We stick with TSX but can say that for TSX the Barnes recommended Big Game was boring in that their load set at .050 out was so outstanding in the boys 700 that we have never even played with fine tuning the charge/primers or seating depth. When we played with TTSX in a rifle I seem to remember they preformed similarly to TSX, at least in that one case.

I'm just starting the same load workup for two rifles. So far I've done no more than sight the scopes in so I'm able to shoot for groups. Maybe we can both post results when we get time to work on this.

Mine liked 56.5 gr RL-15 but I doubt you could go wrong w/ Big Game.

58gr of Varget is widely loved in my circle of friends & family I load for. Gets a tad over 3300fps in a 24in bbl and right around 3200fps in 22in tubes.

The 24" is a Mauser Mark-X, the 22's are both Rem 700, and a Savage 110

I like Varget but have limited myself to 53.0 gr and not getting good velocity. I'll step on it a bit. 3100 fps would be great

63.0g of Win 760 is dead on at 3300 fps out of my 24" Rem 700 barrel, knaws little holes in the target. I set the bullets .050 off the lands, never played with another seating depth due to the extreme accuracy of this load.

From what I've seen of the 130 ttsx there may not be A bad powder. Seems it shoots in most any gun I try it. The little 110 ttsx is much the same.

55grs Varget and the 130 TTSX. In one manual I'm .5 grs over in another I'm 1gr under max. Watch your velocities and work your way up slowly.

Seated at .030

The Hodgdon site lists a max of 53.5 Varget with a 130 grain Speer if I remember right. 53.5 Varget with the 130 grain TSX or TTSX produces right on 3150 in all the rifles I've run it in. Accuracy has been MOA or less. Seating depth has been problematic in some rifles and no problem at all in others. Between 308s shooting the 130 at close on 3050 and 30-06s they kill deer as well as anything I have ever seen.

I don't think I'd use them past about 350 on deer, but anything less they are my preferred 30 caliber choice. Out of a few dozen deer killed with them, all were one shot kills. Only one bullet stopped in a deer, and that was corner to corner on a good buck.
