30 ounces. Too much for most.

It is what it is.

At least it has more internal adjustment than the stuff you pimp....

I don't know what I pimp, and the Nightforce certainly has lots of adjustment. The ones I have compared were better than all other scopes in both resolution and low light performance. Certainly if money were no object, and I was building a rifle for long range it would carry a Nightforce.

SHV5-2056
Now, exceptional precision at extended ranges made possible by higher magnification is available at a reasonable price.

Freudian Slip perhaps?
Implying the other NF offering's aren't reasonable? grin

I don't like that it only has 10MOA of elevation per rotation, but it does come with a type of zero stop now. Looks like a winner.

Up until NF come up with high speed turret, they all had 10 MOA per spin, which was no big deal since we didn't know what we were missing. whistle It's damn near impossible to miss a click with the low speed turret.

I'd like to see a SHV version built like the compacts with a 42mm objective, or the NXS Compact in a little more power w/o the bulk.

After I pondered what was stated here, I thought it reasonable to ask how I pimp for z5 when I have to tell folks it took four before I kept one. That means three were rejected. That is not very good quality control for something costing $1,500.

If it were not for the weight I'd be wanting one. As it is, I'm wondering what would be a better choice in the same range of capability with less weight.

I may decide to go with it anyway but.....

Scopes that function correctly and don't fall apart aren't light.

My Swarovski was on a rifle firing an 85 grain bullet with only 65 grains of powder. It should have lasted till Jesus comes and yet it needed a new spring by the time I fired 200 rounds!

I never had that kind of trouble from any of the Tascos I use.
