Rice Lake? I went to my first two years of college there at Barron County extension of the UW. Great town. Madison would never allow a gun manufacturer.

That's cool.

Anthony Imperato strikes me as a no-BS-kind-of-guy.

This is very true. I am surprised that there are gun shops left in town.

Henry has had a presence in Rice Lake for a few years. Up until now the facility there simply manufactured some of the receivers. It's only recently that they (Henry) moved the complete production of some rifles to Rice Lake.

Did they close the NJ facility?

Thought they were always USA made. Where were they made previously.

Henry still has a facility in NJ. As I understand it, the decision to move some of the production to WI was brought on by the hurricane a couple of years ago. Henry was unable to survey the damage to their NJ facility for quite a while. Prepared for the worse, they purchased several replacement machines, expecting heavy flood damage. After finally getting to assess the damages, they found that the damage was not nearly as bad as expected. Much of the machinery thought to need replacement because of the storm did not in fact need replacement. Since they had already purchased and taken delivery of the new equipment to minimized down time after the storm, and rather than try and swing a deal to return it, they opted to use much of it in the Rice Lake plant.

** Note - I do not work for Henry. The above information is what I recall being told by a Rice Lake resident over a cup of coffee while passing thru Rice Lake on my way northern Minnesota.

In the eye of the beholder.
I just bought a henry in .38/.357 last month it is a purty little rifle with a very slick action and trigger.

Dunno' much about their Center Fire Products.

I'm going to remain SERIOUSLY underwhelmed at the injection molded parts used in profusion on their rimfires.

CHEESY,....in the extreme. dismantle one ONCE and alla' the threads that WERE in those plastic parts are little curls, on the floor. I think they're melting down black plastic GARBAGE bags, to hit that low water mark.

Cheesy ?

...They picked the right State, anyway.
