I have a tack driving Tikka in 7-08 already. Why am I so enamored with another 7-08 in a:

Cooper 54 Jackson
or
Sako Grey Wolf
or
Kimber 84M Select (egads...)

Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

I do not own a 7MM-08 Rem. But I do think that it is the best cartridge to come down the pike since the .280 Rem. And I don't own a .280 Rem either.

I could make do with a short-action 7MM-08 Rem for most everything in North America. But for bullets 160 grains & heavier, I'd want a .280 Rem. There ain't nothin' I wouldn't hunt in North America with a .280 Rem loaded with 175 grain Partitions, provided, of course, that that Jack Link's commercial didn't manage to contract a real one to play the part of Big Foot.

A Cooper 54 Excalibur in 7-08 would be pretty sweet.

The Grey Wolf has a fat bulky stock, at least in the long action. The one I had for a short while just too heavy with too much lumber for my tastes. The Finnlight is a different story.

Sako.

I have a grey wolf in 300 WSM and I don't think the stock is bulky.

Why not another Tikka? And yes I know, I'm boring.

Sako Grey Wolf is smooth and would be "cool" and would probably be as accurate as your Tikka!!!

I've never had a Cooper in my hands, also have heard there can be good Kimbers and bad Kimbers?
