Was building an AR and going the adjustable gas block route and probably still will go that route to be safe on function.....

But ran into the above gun, local dealer, paid a bit more but keeps mom and pop at 82 still in their store in the country and thats nice to know.

What I did not expect was that loaded with 240s subsonic and a suppressor on it, it is VERY quiet. More impressive than what our 22lr can did to 22 ammo. Still want to get a decent bolt gun for the 22 so no action noise just to see....

I have no clue MV of what I loaded real quick... it was 9 ish grains of H110.

The load did smack the mud clod in the tank very authoratatively. It was the loudest part of the whole shot.

Can, IIRC, Thunderbeast 30 P1 or such, Ti can.

Really want a 45-50 cal one for anything from 1911 up to 4570 and in betweeen....

It's good to shop with locals.

That was the biggest disappointment for my 22 can. I screwed it on my AR-1522 and it sounded like the bang came out of the action. I quickly bought a T bolt and things quieted right down. I would like to thread my Kimber SVT but haven't yet.

As much as I hated the marketing strategy, I may try a 300 whisper but only suppressed.

If I wanted the 300 supersonic, I'd go x39....

But remember, I backed into this a bit, you might can do same with 308, though my good bolt gun is only 10 twist....

Wife and I were not that happy with the 22, until I grabbed some wolf match target, and then held the bolt shut and popped one off...

I have a 540 XR IIRC, old target 22 that is plenty accurate. Have machinist friend that we trade favors on... if I can figure out how to get the barrel off and on he will thread... no guns allowed at work.....
OTOH the CZ with threaded swappable barrels will probably get bought one day, see if I can find a blue laminate stock for it, the wife likes blue, and that will be a repeater bolt gun for good enough.... and to run 22 mag a bit quieter than they normally are.... never owned a mag yet so the time is due. Can't warm up to the 17s though for some reason.

back to the whisper, the marketing is just like most... ridiculous and way off in reality generally. But I'd have done the 300/221 again, had one years ago, but its use was suppressed we found in the end, if you didn't do that it wasn't worth much. And suppressed was not legal for big game here.... just didn't add up at the time. But not so bad, as I think the suppresor technology has evolved in the last 30 years or so since I played wiht it...

Shoot subs out of a bolt 22lr. All you hear is click and thud.

Thats the plan.

But the running armadillo this morning never heard the 10-22 action... of course I was on target and it only took the one shot anyway....

AA1680 is supposed to be the cat's meow in the Blackout, for subsonic 220's. And also good for full tilt loads in the x39

1680 is used to be able to function the AR.

This is not one, and according to what I've read, faster burning powders won't function the guns as well or easily, according to Lehigh, and since its a bolt gun, you can use H110 as a fast burner and it will make even less noise.

Might have to use 1680 though when I put the AR upper together later on... wonder how many folks have bought a rock barrel, ready to go, and then left it sit in the safe for 2 plus years and still done nothing with it... Grins...

You can actually load 200-240s with fairly fast powders. I've run very light Unique loads under a 240gr cast lee in my AR. They won't cycle, even suppressed, but they burn very clean due to the pressure, and are noticeably quieter even in the noisy AR action. The only real difficulty I had was getting good accuracy out of them with the small powder volumes. I haven't done much with them since I only have the AR in 300. But if I had a bolt gun, I'd explore the option.

I'm thinking that if need be, filler of some sort, even dacron puff, may eliminate accuracy issues. Don't need that much accuracy at 200 and less, but sure do LIKE accuracy.

Lehigh bullets arrived at least.
