40 cal flint, 42" straight 13/16"octagon barrel with a very good bore. The barrel
retains nearly all of its original brown finish. There is a German
silver front blade sight and flat-top shallow u-notch rear, the top flat is
maker marked "J. Garner" with a long narrow straight tang.The iron "poor boy"
hardware includes a nosecap, two simple thimbles, iron triggerguard,
crescent buttplate and simple toe plate.

The curly maple stock shows a small crack from the breech to the lock
plate screw, which continues along the stock flat behind the screw for 1"; a
tiny crack at the rear teat of the lock plate and a tiny crack at the front
extension of the trigger guard. The gun is equipped with a hex-head vent
liner with double set triggers. A nice Garner-made
