....or .224 TTH, .224 Clark, .22 Newton, 5.56x57 RWS or whatever you want to to call it.

Who has used one, played with one, or currently putting one together?

What is your assessment?

Not assembling one at the moment, but when I burn up the barrel on my 220 Swift that will be its next chamering. The TTH (AI'ed) version for me.

Use one for coyotes and it do work! Shot this coyote at 30 yds with a 55 gr NBT at 4000 fps.

The rifle is a Interarms action,Montana Rifleman Co. barrel and a B&C thumbhole stock with a Leupold 3-9x scope.

Have you ever shot any antelope or deer size critters with the .22-6mm?

I have one and I love it, but I'm not planning to take it deer hunting when I have other much better cartridge/bullet choices available to me.

It's official. I missed the selfie deadline so I'm Maser's sock puppet because rene and the Polish half of the fubar twins have decided that I am.

Schit cartridge design, schit COAL and amongst the last routes I'd go in .224". Cheer up,I shoot 6mm,6mmAI,Bob and Better Bob...if only for conversation and the works suck ass.

Thus far,the Window Lickers have extolled Ping Pong Ball BC's and I'd much rather have a 75 going at 2900(SAAMI 223),than a 55 at 3900+. If only because I got 'em all.

As per always, boolits matter far more than headstamps and you'll note that none of the gals touched upon that. Now if I'm gonna chamber 243AI case capacity,it's gonna be in a .243" bore size, though I suffer a [bleep] CHeetah. Hint.

For day in/day out Utility,I want good boolits(which means no Ping Pong Balls) and a .378" boltface, twisted 8"(though I got 'em in 7,10,12 and 14" too),which will get a guy well past the 1000yd line in fine form. For a Niche Rifle, the 22-250AI is a hoot and simply [bleep] SINISTER with 75's at 3500fps. I got 'em in 7,8,9 and 14".

The fascination with headstamps is purty [bleep] funny to watch and I enjoy The Show, but the gent with a clue,is ALWAYS gonna think boolits/twist rate/COAL first.

I do not think a .224" is large enough in bore sizing, for punching Tags. Laffin'!

Good talk.

55 gr NBT .267 BC @ 4000 fps 200 yd zero 0.6" high at 100 yds

300 yds - 4.0" 2824 fps

600 yds -48.2" 1966 fps

77 gr Nosler Custom Comptetition .340 BC 2900 fps 200 yd zero 1.7" high at 100yds.

300yds -8.2" 2130 fps

600 yds -87.0 1501 fps.

Yup,I'm convinced slower and faster twist is better. LAFFIN'

And another thing, guess I have to explain to someone with so much "knowledge" about firearms, that a .22-6mm is a 6mm Remington necked down to .22 cal with no other changes. smile

'nm,

You poor poor STUPID [bleep].

First, lemme fuel your Imagination,so you can conjure up more Pretend.

Which is the 77 POS Nosler?!? Purty certain I cited the SINISTER 75'Max,but I get it...that you are [bleep] amazingly stupid and doing the "best" you can do,with what incredibly [bleep] little you have to work with.

Bless your heart.

Laffin'!

A leetle more,if only to watch more obvious fly over your crossed-eyes. 'Course you'll haveta Google it all. Laffin'!

L-R: 22-250AI/Swift... 243AI/6mmRemAI...and the beauty of a 700 based 280AI

[Linked Image]

This schit is [bleep] FUNNY,as you talk out your clueless ass, with a [bleep] Mouser and slickshod scope!

Anywhoo...as a Litz default,if only in the interest of "fairness" and objective overview and across the literal course.

The 55NBT at 4Kfps 1.65" scope height and 22-6mmRem launch,via 50-ish grains of propellant.

Have shot that boolit faster in my CHeetah's,if only for conversation. Though a leetle more BC here.

223AI/CHeetah(if only to connect more dots for you)

200yd zero, but please use whatever you wish and I'll happily discuss same in the first hand.
300yds -4" drop,drift 7.3" 2842fps and 986lbs of "energy"
500yds -26" drop,drift 23.7" 2160fps and 570lbs of "energy"

1000yds -285" drop,drift 146" 998fps and 121lbs of "energy"

Now lets talk OEM 22" Montana 223/75'Max at 2900fps and 24.5grs of powder(less than half the 22-6mm 55gr charge weight),with like scope height. 5rds in the belly, kissing lands...with lotsa COAL to spare for land chasin',yada, yada, all of which is over your pointy [bleep] head.

42.7 Mils remaining on erector, from zero, with 10 in reserve on the windshield...which will reach 1000yds+ alone. Erector will reach a mile. Hint.

200yd zero
300yds -7.3" drop,drift 7.2" 2269fps and 857lbs of "energy"
500yds - 43.5" drop,drift 22" 1892fps and 596lbs of "energy"

1000yds -353" drop,drift 114" 1100fps and 201lbs of "energy"

Now let's talk 22" 223AI Montana 1-7" Rock dupe,same sight height,same zero,75'Max at 3125fps. 5 in the belly,26grs of propellant.

126.5 MOA remaining on erector, after zero(1900yd line)...with 5 Mils on the windshield(1475yd line full value 10mph wind correction). Google it. Hint.

Cain't wait for you to "tell" me more and share your Treasure Trove Of AMAZING Do Nothing Dumb [bleep]...if only ecause you are doing "great". Laffin'!

Now say sumptin' about the particulars of that piece of [bleep] schit,in regards to who's barrel,it's twist rate, throat geometry,COAL and how you use implement "all" them 22-6mm "advantages",with your wicked set-up and vivid [bleep] Imagination and all that Pretend?!?

I'm crying I'm laughing soooooooooo [bleep] hard! You "hard chargers" are a [bleep] hoot and you gals REAALY "know" your "stuff". Laffin'!

Wind drift suffers right out of the gate with the lower BC bullets.

PS, use the Amax -not- the Nosler in your calculations.
