I have really been pleased with the looks and performance of the 6.5x284 that I purchased a couple of months ago from Frank Robinson, so I went back and made a deal on a .280 Ackley that he had. The only "blemish" that I can find is a "double hit" on the "280 Ackley" barrel stamp.

That has not kept it from shooting one half inch groups with 140 gr Nosler Accubonds.

Have a look;

I think I could live with that.

Mighty fine.

Do love fine wood.

My dream is to have a few rifles of that quality one day.

Good Lord...what a beautiful rifle. You'll love the caliber too I'll bet.

Thanks guys. Frank does nice work and his "assistant", Chuck, does some great wood work. I've also had them add checkering to a few of my rifles.

Wow, that is some kind of fine rifle. Perfect enough for me, too! Thanks for sharing it with us. Rifle porn all the way.

what is that action? Looks like either an FN or Mark X. Either way, nice rifle!

That's a beautiful rifle Don.

Just a small rant, and certainly not trying to take anything away from your beautiful rifle. I can't figure out why some gunsmiths do what they do. They'll do all that work to build something beautiful then hand stamp the caliber on there instead of spending $20 to get someone with an engraving machine to make it nice and pretty. It's maddening.

Even with the bolt on the incorrect side it's still a beautiful gun. grin Good find.
