I took an old 700Vs 223 I had over my buddies and did a few mods. First off he wanted to do a writeup on cutting down a 26in barrel down to 16in and record velocities. Heres the link.
http://rifleshooter.com/2014/04/223...-man-his-chop-box-and-his-friends-rifle/
Now I needed a new barrel I figured I might as well go all out. I found a deal on a Mcmillan stock with Badger bottom metal. I ordered a Shilen #7 barrel and a Holland lug. We ended up truing the action and bedding the stock. The rifle was a solid shooter to begin with so I was hoping for sub 1/2 moa. I went with a 1/8 barrel so I can shoot 80grain bullets out of it. Im waiting on some new optics but for testing I used a Nightforce 12-42x Benchrest model. The rifle is a tac driver to say the least.

I just coated a set of 34mm Vortex rings for the new Razor 4-27x. I hope I can get my hands on one soon. It will be the prefect addition to this rifle. Flat dark earth Cerakote was used on this build.

Looks like a well thought out plan that came together. Impressive. Will probably make you crazy if you ever try to improve on it with the next build.

Thanks, I hope this weekend to get some 5 and 10 shot groups. The load is a little hot but should be ok. Wait until the next build is done. Its a 6x47 Lapua with a BAT VR action, Shilen barrel, Mcmillan A5. The stock is whats holding up the build now. No rush I have plenty of toys to play with in the meantime.

Took bad it doesn't come with the spring and cross pin. We used a drill bit. Its held up well. I have them on 3 rifles now.

I shot some 200yards groups today. She shoots awesome. Sub 1/2 moa at 200 yards. I tried some 77gr bullets that shot just as well. Ill post pics tomorrow of the groups.

Really loving this rifle. Cant wait to get the right optics on it. The Vortex Razor compliments the tan. Keeping my fingers crossed that Camerland will get one soon.
