Been around a while... Haven't posted here yet I guess...
So I have this great Mnt Cur dog. I am currently living with a very high population of coastal brown bears. My dog goes nuts. It's very hard to get him to come back, once he gets on a bear.
Today he got on a pretty big one in the back yard and got it up against a big stump and would not let it go. It was honestly too dangerous to go in and get him. Finally got him to leave off and come back by using a popper round out of a 12ga.
I really need a good collar, but would like tracking capability as well so I can find him when he gets out...
What collar do you recommend with shocking and tracking capability ? High quality.
I was thinking of Garmin-Tritronics combo but don't know which one?
Please advise...
Thanks

Beware the man with one gun, for he likely knows how to use it...

I have the Astro for tracking and a Tri-tronic training collar, but would go with the new Alpha to have it all in one. My training receiver fits on the same collar as the DC-40 receiver, but not with the newer DC-50, which is a hassle. I like the Garmin maps and the intuitive nature of the software. When you give the dog a burst of maximum electricity it will get his attention.

It's not the destination...
