One of the great guitar players. Heard it on the news when I was on the road yesterday morning and put Rock and Roll Animal in the truck cd player. Listened to the first 3:40 intro to Sweet Jane a couple of times. Man could really write and play. Wagner and Steve Hunter were a great duo. Don't care all that much about the album's lyrics and Lou Reed's work but Dick Wagner was at the top of the pyramid in my opinion. I had read about 15-20 years ago that Wagner and the band he had for the Lou Reed tour sort of stole the show. I don't know if that's true or just hype and legend from the music writers. Works for me.

Didn't really know much about him but was pleasantly surprised to read about his charity work. Went through the discography on his website; man he played on a lot of albums and wrote a lot of music.
