The best you can do is cross your fingers and pray. I once shot a grey fox with a .243 100gr Power Point in the chest and had the bullet pencil through the entire body and exit beside the tail. No damage at all. On the flip side I once shot a coyote with a .223 55gr. FMJ in the chest and had the bullet, along with bone fragments explode out the top of his back between the shoulder blades, leaving a huge gruesome hole.

i shot this bobcat with a 35 Whelen,when i got to the local taxidermy man, i asked if he could fix it? he took a look and said no problem! after he finished i am convinced.

hey, woodsie. Could you use a couple 243'd prairie dogs to incorporate into your 234'd coyote and bobcat mounts? wasp has a few he'd give ya....

225 grain Sierra gameking, shot another one about a minute later and had to look to find the in and out holes! Shot another cat a week later with a 257 Weatherby and damage was moderate.
