Well, it's 40 degrees outside and sunny. A bit breezy, but not too bad. I'm sittin' here eating cold fried limb chicken legs, and getting ready to go hunting. Haven't been out since dec. 21. Our season closes in two weeks. Gonna give it a shot. Later......

Got to hunt a new woods. Ran into a buddy on the backroads, and he said go hit his woods, a few needed to be shot! grin

So I did, and ended up with two. The male is so old, he goes into the pressure cooker for limb chicken chowder.....grin

Went squirrel hunting yesterday morning. Squirrels weren't active and I only managed three total. The first one with my old M39A with Williams peep and a Menefee Trapper...

Two of these dudes crossed away from me down the holler and the M39 did its thing. The "kiss of death" brought them around to me. One got in a brush pile and I couldn't dig it out but it's dead as Madonna's viginity. The other one posed...

It's a beautiful day here in Alabama, mid 50's with a gentle breeze. I'm sitting in the woods next to a small watering hole that was dug by my grandfather and his first cousin in the 1940's. I haven't seen any squirrels yet, but it's such a great day that I don't care, just happy to be alive. And have enough pain meds to enable getting out of the house for some fresh air.

Well, I went yesterday. Hunted 2 1/2 hrs. The snow was loud and crunchy. Only saw 2 squirrels, both at a distance, running about mach 9! grin The fat lady is starting to warm up. Only have about 1 1/2 wks., before this season is history. It's been a good one despite the weather, for me, early. May try to get out 1 more time, before it's a wrap.

Crap. I think ours ends end of the month too. I gotta check again.

Forgot to take pics last couple of trips, but I think this new box of minimags is a good one. Went 3-4 today, and all shots were pretty long, >40 yards? I get an extra piece of pie for good shooting.

PN, I hope you're doing well and out at em again soon. I'm glad it warmed up here, for sure. There was a week or two I didn't see a single squirrel moving, even in the neighborhood.

Nailed one today with the Grulla double just before dark. It started raining on me as I was trying to take a picture and only one came out focused well enough to use.

That looks like one for the pressure cooker, PN. That is a pretty shooter.

Down here this weekend looks windy. Should get out at least once.

Keep the topical graphics coming, MD.
