BC909, sorry to hear about your friend.

I took a buddy hunting, yesterday. Saw a ton of squirrels, but between the skeeters, and the overhead foliage, plus the fact that none of them set still, I couldn't get a shot at any of them. frown The skeeters were the worst I have experienced in years. Came home and found a headnet that I have never used. It's going with me this weekend.

Thanks, Mdog....took 2 grays and a red this morning. They weren't moving much in this heat. I got them almost cleaned and remembered that I didn't get a pic. Not quite finished yet,,,,but does this count?? grin

Got another 2 1/2" of rain, last night, in a little over an hr. That brings us up to 14 1/2-15" of rain, since the first of Aug., with most of it coming since the 20th of Aug. May be a while before I get any more hunting done. frown

Got done sweeping up water in the basement, and since it was such a beautiful morning, I hauled my butt to the woods. Man it was nice out, and the skeeters not too bad. Got in, and set up near a pignut hickory that they were cutting on. Saw one moving around up in the hickory. Lined up and shot him. Went to pick him up, and saw another in the top of a big oak, and red headed him with a 40 yd. shot.

Moved on deeper in the woods, and saw one up another hickory. No way to get closer, so I took the shot. Out she flopped, thumping the ground. I stepped it off, and it was 60 yds. to the base of the tree. Didn't know I had it in me.....grin

Went on, and found another one up an oak, and red headed that lil booger. Time to head for the truck.

Ended up with 4 for the day.

Well.....time to see how much rain we get today. Hasn't started, yet, but it's about on top of us. Just about got the basement wall dried up, but depending on the intensity, I may be back at it for the next few days. frown My son is coming up tomorrow, hope we can get a squirrel hunt in, in the morning.

Gonna bag the hunt with my son, today. We had almost 2" of rain, again yesterday. That makes about 16" in the last 20 days. Was up three times last night sweeping up water seepage, in my basement. This last three weeks has been a PITA for hunting.....

Well, between the basement water sweeping, I got out today. Really cool, and kind of windy. Saw two, and managed to re head one.
