Wow, it's less than 7 weeks until opening day in the Show-Me state. I gotta get my guns ready!

My guns are OK, but the shooter needs some work. The cataract surgery is set for May 15, but then we'll do the other eye, so I may not be up for the opener. Not that the opener is a big deal in an 8-nonth season smile

Maybe I'll just use the .410 pistol (T/C) until I can see rifle sights again. If I can see the squirrel.

Two of my buddies kept complaining about your same condition. After surgery, they have been giving a run for my money! I agree with you about our liberal season. I hunt until I killed enough for awhile, then switch to bluegill fishing, then back at it again. Life is good!

Missouri squirrel season is the only liberal thing I have ever liked. When I can see to do it, I'll get out Grandpa's target rifle and cap a few. I like to shoot that old rifle once in a while for old time's sake - and because any misses are on me.

Turkey hunting got rained out. Tomorrow's my night to cook, so I figured I'd get started on some taco meat...

6ish hours at 250 F and they're pretty tender, tasty and juicy. I'm thinking this beats stewing in salsa. They've got some nice roasted flavor.

Five months until season opens.

Well boys, this is the closest to hunting anything, I've done in a while. Mama and I went to Ft. Wayne, for Mother's Day to see her kids. My step daughter's boy friend took me shroom hunting, out at his deer hunting woods. we had a nice Saturday afternoon. we didn't find a ton of em, but most of them were huge! grin

I fried them up with seasoned flour and butter, in a cast iron skillet. YUMMY! grin
