Given that, the 7mm comes in with the Blue Ribbon by a length. Runner up: the over-boomer 300. The 7 is close to perfect capacity for a magnum 7. Seems like I could duplicate the 257 and then some in the 7 with the right light bullet. The 300 offers no more range than the 7, so the only plus there is heavier bullets, more KE. I belong on eroding granite, among the pines.

Mine is built on a Pre-64 action and is a one hole gun with Sierra 85s but the 1-10 twist just won't handle the heavies. If I ever manage to shoot out the barrel, it will be replaced with a 1-8. Those who must raise their voice to get their point across are generally not intelligent enough to do so in any other way.
