But then I grew up reading Grandpa's Wally Taber books so I was accustomed to the flashy looks before I ever started shooting.

When recoil became a problem he went to a .270 WBY Mark V. I doubt if there's a cartridge that I don't like. Keep in mind that before Holland & Holland decided to put belts on big cartridges, our hunting forefathers were doin' it all with the '06 & our Canadian neighbors were doin' it all with the .303 British.
